A Call for Help!
Better Burma is very excited to be working with several activists to sponsor a major art auction fundraiser. A live event will take place on December 11, and we have also been promised free gallery space in New York City where these works can be shown in person. We truly hope that this can be one of the biggest fundraisers to date, with all proceeds going to support urgent humanitarian missions in Myanmar. Every new buyer we bring to the auction, and every new art piece we can offer, will go towards saving yet more lives being impacted by the daily terror waging in Myanmar.
To pull this off, we need your help! Following are the needs we have to make this as successful as possible. Please contact us if you can help in any way…. no way is too small!
Graphic Designers: We want to make templates to be able to share far and wide across social media, informing people about the event. Templates can be created from scratch; we can also provide watermarked images of some of the art to be auctioned.
Artists: Please inform all artists in your community about this event! We are accepting submissions for artists of any background, and we have a broad definition of what is classified as “art”, from painting to music to poetry to dance. Please help us get the word out to artistic communities around the world!
Social Media: We would be ever so grateful if you could share information about this event on your own social media platforms, and especially if you know of higher profile platforms where this information can reach even more people. If you are affiliated with anyone who makes newsletters, please try to help us get a plug!
Media: Whether big or small, around Myanmar or in the West, we are trying to get the word out about this event. This is a wonderful opportunity for many people to gain an understanding of the crisis in Myanmar, and support the people in any way possible. If you are connected to any media platforms of any kind, please help connect us so we can share about this wonderful event.
Guests: A live event will be held on December 11, and we are working to build our guest list and get an MC. If there are any bigger names that could draw more attention to this event, please help connect us! Whether they are deeply connected to Myanmar or more generally concerned about democracy movements, whether they speak live or recorded, and as short as five minutes.
Videographers: The story of how this event will take shape is itself something to be showcased. If you have any ability video editing, we can collaborate on how to best tell our story.
Donate: For an event of this size, it will take some coordination and investment of time and resources to pull off. Please consider making a donation to help us plan for this event.
